Following
the sudden death of Maestro Boris SIrpo in 1967, John Trudeau, professor of
music at Portland State, was asked to fill the vacancy. He conducted two orchestras
that Boris SIrpo started - the Portland Chamber Orchestra and the Portland
Civic Orchestra, a group of professional and community musicians.
